POTISKAJ SI BLAGO - TEST // PRINT YOUR OWN FABRIC - TEST

Se še spomniš, ko sem objavila kako narediti žigce iz plutovinastih zamaškov? Ne? Poglej si TUKAJ. Če se sprašuješ kako jih lahko uporabiš, imam idejo. Zakaj si ne bi sami potiskali blaga?

Preden sem se lotila barvanja blaga, ki sem ga kupila, sem morala testirati kako se barva obnaša na tkanini in na kakšen način jo bom nanašala. Danes delim z vami potek mojega testiranja črne barve, naslednji teden pa bom pokazala, zakaj potiskano blago sploh potrebujem in kakšen je končni rezultat. ;)

Potrebuješ:

- blago

- barve za tekstil

- posodo za barvo

- čopič

- lepilni trak in/ali samolepilno folijo
- plutovinaste zamaške / pluto (naredi sam TUKAJ )
- zaščitno podlogo
- likalnik

Do you remember my post on the blog "Make your own cork stamps"? No? Check it out HERE. If you're wondering why and how you can use them, I have an idea. Why wouldn't we print our own fabric?

Before I printed the fabric I've bought, I wanted to test how the textile ink reacts on the fabric and how to apply it to achieve the best result. I'm sharing with you today, how I tested black textile ink, next week, I'll show you what is the reason I'm making these printed fabrics and what is the final result. ;)

You'll need:

- fabric

- textile inks

- plastic container 

- brush

- office tape / contact paper

- cork stamps / cork ( check out THIS DIY)

- craft mat

- iron

1. PLUTA / CORK

Začela sem z enostavnimi pikami. Barvi sem dodala malo vode, a sem hitro ugotovila, da mi vodena barva ne omogoča lepega rezultata. Za tem sem iz plutovinaste plošče izrezala trikotnik, ga namazala z barvo in odtisnila. Ta vzorec mi je všeč, ker ima strukturo plute. :)

I started with the simple polka dot pattern. I mixed textile ink with some water, but I've quickly realized that watery ink doesn't give the best result. Then, I cut a triangle shape out of the cork board, and I stamped it on the textile. I like this one because of the cork texture.

2. LEPILNI TRAK - SAMOLEPILNA FOLIJA / OFFICE TAPE - CONTACT PAPER

Za naslednja dva vzorca sem uporabila lepilni trak. Lahko uporabite tudi samolepilno folijo, ampak mislim, da je lepilni trak hitrejši in enostavnejši za uporabo. Uporabite samolepilno folijo za kompleksnejše oblike. V trikotnem vzorcu sem ga nalepila na blago in s čopičem pobarvala vmesne delčke. Ko se je barva malo posušila, sem lepilni trak odstranila in ostal je trikotni vzorec.

Potem sem se lotila še enega vzorca - črt. Čez celo stranico sem vzporedno lepila daljše kose lepilnega traka s približno 1 cm razmaka. Večino črt sem pobarvala z gosto barvo, brez dodane vode. Barva pride lepša in se ne razlije, ampak porabi se veliko barve in ko se posuši je tisti del malo trši.

I used a tape for next two patterns. You can also use a contact paper, but I think the tape is easier and faster to use. I used it to make a triangular pattern, I coloured the empty triangles in between. After the colour has dried, I removed the tape and only the triangles remained.

Then, I made another pattern - lines. Parallel to one side of the textile, I glued the long pieces of tape, approximately 1 cm apart. Most of the lines, I colored with thick ink, without water. This way, the colour looks nicer and it doesn't spread, but I used too much ink, and when it dries it hardens a little bit.

Tako je potekal moj testni projekt, že naslednji teden pa pokažem, kaj je sledilo in kaj sem izdelala :) Ne bom izdala kateri vzorec me je najbolj pritegnil, ker bi potem izdala katerega sem uporabila. ;) Me pa zanima kateri je tebi najbolj všeč? :)

Zdaj pa pojdi in naredi svoj vzorec! Imaš prijatelja, ki bi mu bila všeč ta ideja? Deli jo! :)

And this is how I made my test prints, but next week I'll show you what I've done next and what is the final product. :) I'm not going to tell which pattern is my favourite, because I would spoil which one I choose. ;) But which one is your favourite?
